Seiichi Kubo + Yoshinobu Kagiyama + Mine Muratsuji / Archivi Architects & Associates projected a residential quarter located in the east part of the Wakaura bay in the city of Wakayama, Japan.
The shape of the house makes it possible to create a big garden in the center of the site. Nature is naturally taken into all the life scenes of the house.
The Japanese cedar and cypress are used as main structure material, for the floors, siding and lattice. The interior ceilings and walls are covered with lauan plywood. The construction aims to be a wood space with high purity, following the Japanese climate and traditional technology.
