The design of the Herringbone Houses, projected by Alison Brooks Architects, seeks to integrate the houses with the wooden setting through a continuous herringbone patterned timber surface.
The wooden shell generates an apparent lightness to the houses. The living rooms are recessed behind deep overhangs that provide shade, direct views to the south-east and shelter the ground floors entrance areas. The two-level halls are located in the center of the houses with a sculptural oak staircases.
