Christophe Pillet redesigned the Bar du Port in Saint Tropez, France, creating a contemporary interpretation of the Parisian-looking bistros.
The all-white palette is meant to remind patrons of the yachts from which the clients just alighted. The interior lighting approximates this luxurious seafaring life. All seating is bar-height to ensure that visitors can glimpse the harbor. Moreover, a high ceiling is largely clad in smoked mirror, amplifying daylight levels in the room and reflecting images of the boats. At night the mood is intimate in contrast to the expansive daytime atmosphere.
